Richard J. Krupar Sr., 85, of Oberlin passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020 at his home following a sudden illness. He was born March 27, 1935 in Dunlow, PA. and was a lifelong Oberlin resident. Richard was an Industrial Engineer and was employed at Invacare for 24 years, retiring in 2005. He was a United States Army veteran, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin and enjoyed farming, gardening, and playing golf, baseball, softball and bowling. Survivors include his daughters, Deborah (Ken) Bescak, Rosemarie Harris, Renee' Bursley; sons, Richard Jr. (Curran) Krupar, Thomas (Terri) Krupar and James (Rebecca) Krupar; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Veronica Irelan; brother, Steve Krupar. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Krupar, sister, Helen Gerlak, step-sister, Mary Burnett and brothers, Martin, Michael, John and Andrew Krupar. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Facial coverings and social distancing are required. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday January 8, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church 410 West Lorain St., Oberlin, where facial coverings and social distancing will also be required. Please meet at Church. The Rev. Fr. David Trask, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Entombment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
