They celebrated 27 years of marriage in October of this year. After retiring, Richard and Janie moved back to Ohio. They adored doing everything together, traveling, and spending time with family, especially their grandchildren. At age 6 he sadly was diagnosed with Scarlet Fever. At age 8 he contracted JRA, a devastating disease that affected his joints. Something that affected him his entire life.
