Richard D. Roberts, AKA Fireball, age 86 of Grafton passed away Sunday December 1, 2024 following a long illness. He was born August 21, 1938 in West Virginia and was a 4 year veteran of the US Air Force. He was the owner of Rolling Plastics for over 30 years, enjoyed golfing, skiing, traveling and was an avid reader. He loved being with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years Brenda Roberts; daughters, Jill Gallogly, Terri (Bob) Williams; and by his son, Rick Roberts. Survivors also include his grandchildren, Samantha Williams, Chad Mason Price, Maddison Gallogly, Jeffrey Carpenter Jr., Ashley Carpenter, Nick Carpenter; sisters, Sheila Brazina, Judy Chal; brother, Keith Roberts. He was preceded in death by sons, James Carpenter and Jeffrey Carpenter. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria where military honors will be presented. Rev. Kathy Ketchum will officiate. Memorial contributions can be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105. Burial will be held at a later date.
