Richard C. "Corky" Miller 78, of Elyria passed away at home Sunday March 13, 2011 following a short illness. He was born May 15, 1932 in Elyria. Corky was a 1950 North Ridgeville High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Greenland during the Korean War. Corky retired from the Pfaudler Co. as an enameller following thirty two years of service; then worked for Industrial Security at the Lorain Pellet Terminal. He had served as an Elyria Auxiliary Policeman; and was a Past Commander and Chaplain for AMVETS Post#32. Corky had also been a member of Elyria United Polish Club, American Legion Post #12. He loved volunteering working with the Special Olympics and their associated functions; Girls assistant gymnastics coach; Elyria Softball Leagues; Boy Scouts Council. Corky enjoyed golf, bowling, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of fifty years; Carol A. (nee: Sparks) two daughters; Connie A. Wilson (Earl) of Elyria, Jackie R. Clouser of Elyria, a son; Richard C. (Mary) of Elyria. Additional survivors include three grandchildren; Karen Sauer (Nate), Courtney Clouser, Cody Willis, two great grandchildren; Arabella and Aiden Sauer, three sisters; Eloise Cantley (James) of Elyria, Lois Page (Rick) of Elyria, Lynette Hill (Dale) of Spencer. He was preceded in death by his parents; Corlis and Ruth (nee: Pliske) Miller, step mother; Ann Miller, a sister; Patsy Miller and two brothers; David and Dale.
