Renate E. Kitzler (nee-McCurdy), 73, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026 at Crocker Pointe Health and Rehabilitation from natural causes. She was born March 2, 1952 in Bremerhaven, Germany.

Renate was a homemaker, enjoyed painting, and spending time with her family. She could always be found around the volleyball court, supporting and cheering for her granddaughters. Renate loved and cherished her grandchildren with all her heart; spending time with them, no matter they were doing, was her favorite thing to do.

Survivors include her daughters Renee Huffman and Robyn (Jason) Dimacchia; grandchildren, Pauline, Robert, Arianna, Isabella, Mackenna and Randilynn; brother, Robert McCurdy; sister, Rewena McCurdy; brother-in-law Mark (Kim) Kitzler; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Kitzler; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert McCurdy, mother, Elly McCurdy; husband, Randall Kitzler; son, Randall J. Kitzler; father-in-law, Max Kitzler and brother-in-law, Jim Kitzler.

The family will receive friends Friday February 27, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
