Ray A. Bidinger 90 of Elyria passed away Friday September 5 , 2014 at his home following a brief illness. He was born March 19 , 1924 in Akron and was an Elyria resident for most of his life. Ray was the owner operator of Twin Lakes Homes in Elyria , a member of the First Baptist Church of Elyria , the Elyria Eagles , Elyria Moose , Amvets post 32 , the VFW post 1079 and he and his wife enjoyed traveling. Survivors include his wife Gloria , daughters Carol Arnold of Cape Coral, Fl. , Louise Shaw of Elyria , Nancy Varden of Port Clinton and Janet Carpenter of Bay Village , step-son Carl Butcher of LaGrange, 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ernestine in 2000 , sister Louise and brothers Edward , George , and Lawrence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626. The Rev. Craig Golden of the First Baptist Church of Elyria will officiate. Burial will be private.
