Randolph "Randy" Sturgill, 78, of LaGrange passed away Thursday May 10, 2018 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus following a long illness. He was born June 20, 1939 in Dema, KY. And was an area resident for over 50 years. Randy retired from Ohio Screw Products where he worked as a set-up man and also formerly worked at LaGrange Screw Products. He enjoyed rose gardening, yardwork and was "Jack of all trades" who could fix anything. Randy was a former successful Hot Stove Baseball coach as well as being an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ernestene (nee-Hall); daughters, Alicia Sturgill and Kara Sturgill (Douglas Libman); sister, JoAnn Clark; brother, Rudolph Sturgill. He was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Amburgey and brother, James Sturgill. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Kathy Ketchum will Officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
