Ralph E. Moyer 82, of Elyria passed away at home unexpectedly on Thursday November 15, 2012. He was born April 5, 1930 in Elyria. Ralph served with the U.S. Army, and had retired from Ohio Edison as a Lineman Foreman. He was a great athlete and played on the 1947 Elyria High School Championship football team. Ralph played semi pro baseball, and was an avid golfer who worked part-time at Cherry Ridge Golf Course for fifty one years. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter; Kathy Kessler (Dave) of Worthington, OH., three sons; Charles Moyer of Madison, WI., Thomas Moyer (Terre) of Elyria, John Moyer (Ariane) of Okemos, MI. Additional survivors include ten grandchildren; Emily, Matthew, Andrew, Stephen, Megan, Saskia, Alexsandra, Thomas, Justin and Zack, several nieces and nephews, and his former spouse; Patricia A. Moyer (nee: Provoznik) of Elyria. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; Wayne and Myrtle (nee: Lance) Moyer, a sister; Barbara Schnitzler, and two brothers; Roy and Chuck Moyer. All services are private. Memorial contributions in Ralph's memory can be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
