Ralph W. Burgett, 83, of Elyria passed away Friday August 19, 2016 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born August 16, 1933 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Ralph worked as a set-up man at General Motors for 34 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member the New Life Wesleyan Church in Columbia Station and the U.A.W. Local 1005. Ralph enjoyed camping, gambling, spending time with his family and was an avid sports fan. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kathy (nee-Webb); daughters, Doris Burgett, Marie (Mike) Trivett and Kathy (Craig) Tletski; sons, Ray (Gina) Burgett, Tom Burgett, Jim Richards, and Sean (Donna) Richards; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanie Adams. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Celebration of Ralph's life will be held on Saturday August 27, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at the New Life Wesleyan Church 11149 West River Rd. Columbia Station.
