Priscilla E. Cox (nee Allan) 89 of Oberlin formerly of Andover Massachusetts and Wolfeboro, New Hampshire passed away Sunday September 7 , 2014 at Kendal at Oberlin following a lengthy illness.She was born May 22 , 1925 in Malden, Massachusetts. Priscilla was a graduate of Melrose High School and Newton Wellsley school of Nursing. She practiced nursing in many different surroundings and had a life long commitment to health , exercise, and nutrition. She was active in the Andover community after retirement. She volunteered at the Historical Society , and offered her services for reading programs in the elementary schools and at the Senior Center. She was active with a wide circle of friends and family. She enjoyed theater and the arts , knitting, exercise and travel. Survivors include son Thomas A. of Eagan, Minnesota , daughter Sandra L. (Brent) Smith of Oberlin, Ohio ,grandchildren Ivan and Augusta, step-sister Kathryn Simpson of Roseville, California She was preceded in death by her husband John E. , and her parents William and Eloise ( nee Wood). A memorial service will be held Saturday October 25 , 2014 at 11 AM at Christ Church 33 Central Street Andover, Mass.The Rev. Michael J. Hodges will officiate. Burial will be Private. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society 10501 Euclid Ave. Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
