Philomena Mittler (nee Boron), 93 of Elyria passed away Tuesday April 11, 2017 at Life Care of Elyria following a brief illness. She was born February 2, 1924 in Elyria and was a lifelong resident. Philomena was a 1942 graduate of Elyria High School and a 1944 graduate of the Oberlin School of Commerce. Philomena worked for Elyria Spring and Specialty for 22 yrs. She was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Church and a strong supporter of the St. Agnes food bank, member of the Altar and Rosary Society, United Polish Club of Elyria. Philomena enjoyed traveling to the Northeast, to Amish Country with her friends , and to Gettysburg "each October" with her son Frank, she was an excellent baker and homemaker. Survivors include her daughter Catherine Mittler (Walt Clare-deceased) ; sons Frank III (Margie Piedmonte), Dennis (Kathy Cole) all of Elyria; sister Rosalee Anderson of Sydney, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Jr. in 1974; sisters Antoinette Jablonski, Caroline Hahn, and Sophia Bedocs; brother Frank Boron. Family will receive friends 4-7PM Monday April 17, 2017 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57),Elyria. 440-322-4626. Closing prayers 10:30 AM Tuesday April 18, 2017 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas will be the Celebrant.
