Peter M. DePolo Jr. 85, of Elyria (formerly of Fairview Park) passed away at home on Friday September 11, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Pete was born December 13, 1934 in Cleveland. He served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a supervisor at General Motors. Pete was a Fairview Park Councilman for ten years, and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church. He volunteered with Meals On Wheels, and with the USO. Pete treasured spending time with his family, and enjoyed coaching youth sports, fishing, hunting, and building RC planes. Survivors include his devoted wife of sixty six years; Joan M. (nee: Polenz) whom he married November 20, 1953. Additional survivors include two daughters; Donna M. Davies (Robert), Laura J. Mock (David), three sons; Michael A., Richard V. (JoAnn), Peter M. III (Pamela), eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, a brother; John V. (Thelma), a sister; Dei Dree Ann Curci (John). Pete was preceded in death by a son; Ronald J. (Gail), two great grandchildren, and his parents; Peter M. and Adeline (nee: Sauter) DePolo, and a brother; Donald D. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday September 25, 2020 at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church 20970 Lorain Rd. Fairview Park, OH 44126. The Reverend Father Donald Dunson will be the Celebrant. (Please meet at church) Burial will be private at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted.
