Peggy B. Palmer (nee-Stauffer), 78, of Elyria passed away November 12, 2025.

She was a lifelong resident of Elyria and a member of LaPorte United Methodist Church.

Peggy served as the treasurer of LaPorte Hot Stove for many years and worked at York International where she was very involved in the union. She retired in 2010 from being a school bus driver at First Student.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, casino trips with her daughter and besties, bowling and playing Texas Hold'em.

Survivors include her son Jason J. Palmer of Cleveland; daughter, Julie J. (Mark) Dumonthier; granddaughter, Brooke I. Dumonthier all of Elyria; brother, Raymond Stauffer and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John R. Palmer, sister, Dolores Kulas and her parents, Raymond Sr. and Irene Stauffer.

There will be a memorial service on Monday November 24, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.

The Rev. Robert Weldon will Officiate.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Make a Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana 2545 Farmers Dr. Suite 300 Columbus, OH. 43235 or to the American Cancer Society.
