Paul V. Sen Sr. 54, of North Ridgeville passed away Monday August 13, 2012 at Life Care of Elyria following a long illness. He was born January 25, 1958 at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland, OH to Irene (nee: Betarie) and Jaroslav Sen. Paul grew up in Columbia Station where he attended Columbia High School. He had a very distinguished wrestling career at Columbia High where he won numerous championships. He took second in state his junior year, and in his senior year at 132 lbs, became the first athlete at his school to win a state championship in any sport. He was also given the opportunity to qualify for the 1980 Olympic wrestling team. Paul had a great passion for wrestling and was the fiercest competitor. Off the mat, he had a heart of gold and everyone who ever met him can attest to that. In 1999, Paul was inducted into the Lorain County Wrestling Hall of Fame. He helped pave the way for the Columbia High School wrestling program that now has numerous champs. He had a great love for hunting with his brothers, and fishing for Lake Erie walleye. Paul also loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. But his greatest love was spending time with his sons and grandchildren. He was a skilled carpenter who used his master craftsmanship on numerous projects and in many states. Survivors include his wife; JoAnn (nee: Peters), two sons; Paul V. Jr. (Amanda) of Elyria, Christopher K. of Elyria, stepson; Shawn Elder of Elyria, stepdaughter; Kimberley Meholic of North Ridgeville. Additional survivors include three grandchildren; Madeline, Tyler, and Alexis, two sisters; Paulette M. Templet of Gonzalez, LA, Georgiann Murphy of MS, three brothers; Jerome C. (Wendy) of Elyria, Mario P. of Sheffield Village, Marcus A. (Paula) of Carrollton, TX. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; Jaroslav J. and Irene E. (nee: Betarie) Sen.
