Patricia A. Walko, (nee-Leonard), 88, of Phoenix, AZ. And formerly of Grafton passed away Tuesday September 21, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 1, 1933 in Avon to Walter Sr. and Truvie Leonard. Pat was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and worked at the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram for 20+ years, retiring as a supervisor of classified advertising. She was also a member of the Penfield Quilters, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching sports, especially of when her grandchildren were playing, playing bingo and pinochle and taking road trips with her late husband, Willie. She spent many winters in Arizona before moving there permanently in 2018. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (Gary) Smith, Debbie (Jeff) Lehman and Sharon (Mike) Byers; grandchildren, Sheena Bryner, Zach (Danielle) Smith, Josh Smith, Nick Smith, Greg (Sara) Lehman and Justin Lehman; great-grandchildren, Lisa, Kaydence, Maritza and Amara; brothers, Walter Leonard Jr. and David (Barb) Leonard. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William "Willie" and sisters, Rose Mary Green and Leona Shank. The family will receive friends Sunday 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 4, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. The Rev. John P. Seabold, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Christian burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN. 38105-1905.
