Obituary

Patricia Chopich Reichert 66 passed away Sunday January 31, 2016 at Keystone Pointe Hospice in LaGrange after a long battle with Lupus. Patricia a 1967 graduate of Midview High School and later graduated from Baldwin Wallace College with a B.A. in music. She received her master's degree in education from Ohio State. Patricia taught music at Willard Junior High School in Willard, Ohio. She was recognized by the Ohio State Legislature for her innovative music programs and was a Jennings Scholar for excellence in teaching. In later years she was a store trainer for Whole Foods Market in Santa Fe , New Mexico and was a team member at Death Valley National Park and the Grand Teton National Park. Survivers include sister Dr. Erika Chopich of Colorado , brothers Emil Chopich of Anaheim, Ca. , and John Chopich of the Pittsburgh area, Ric Reichert whom she was separated from. She was preceded in death by her first husband Carl Essex of Norwalk , her parents Mike and Catherine Chopich formerly of Grafton and her older brother brother Mike of Grafton. Patricia was a member of Our Lady of Christians Catholic Church in Litchfield where she participated in the choir and served as cantor. She was active in various charities throughout her life working with homeless organizations and with battered families shelters in Santa Fe. Patricia loved all animals and wildlife and shared her last years with her beloved cat Bailey , who now lives with a cherished friend in Oberlin. Many will miss Patricia's beautiful singing voice as she was a member of many vocal groups and choirs during her lifetime. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM at Our Lady Help of Christians Church at Litchfield 9608 Norwalk Rd. Litchfield, Oh , where a Memorial Mass will be at 11 AM. Rev. Fr. Ronald Bryda Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial Private. Arrangements were entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Lorain County Cremation Service of Elyria. In lieu of flowers Patricia requested donations may be made to support the homeless @ Trials for Hope c/o OLHC Parish 9608 Norwalk Rd.
