Patricia E. Mahoney, (nee-Goodlett), 84, of Elyria passed away Tuesday November 29, 2016 UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born June 14, 1932 in Cleveland and was an Elyria resident for most of her life. Pat was a teacher for the Elyria Public Schools for more than 30 years, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed quilting and water aerobics. Survivors include her daughter, Sue Stefek of Grafton; daughter-in-law, Jean Mahoney of Elyria; grandchildren, Chris, Jenny and Ryan; sister, Marilyn Ziegler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, son, Roger Mahoney, son-in-law, Mike Stefek and a sister, Ellamae Lane. The family will receive friends Friday 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Saturday December 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Wendell, pastor of LaPorte United Methodist Church will Officiate. Burial will be at Lakewood Park Cemetery, Lakewood. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Friendship Animal Protective League 8303 North Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria.
