Patricia Ann Karres (nee-Stokes), passed peacefully in her home on June 15, 2020, at the age of 90. Pat was a lifelong resident of Lorain County, graduating from Elyria High School in 1948. Shortly after, she married Linvel C. Karres and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage together. Lynn preceded her in her journey to the Lord, along with her mother and father, Helen and Edson Stokes and a sister Annabelle. Pat was a devout Catholic, giving generously throughout the years to her church and numerous other causes that she cared about. She held a special place in her heart for the Lucy Idol Center in Vermilion, an organization supporting adults with developmental and physical challenges. She especially enjoyed social gatherings with friends and family, including Christmas time when her family would join her and Linvel for large parties with food, gifts and love. Pat was an avid reader and well known for enjoying her card, domino, dice and other board games; first with her husband and friends, then passing down the joy to her grandchildren. She and Lynn spent many winters at their second home in Holiday, FL., and also liked to travel, creating many joyous memories with family and friends. She's passed many of her best qualities on to her children and grandchildren who will continue to carry out her fun and caring spirit. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linvel E. (Mary) Karres, Diane (Joe) Kershaw, Kathleen (Chuck) Patton and Kimberly (Tedd) McCauley; grandchildren, Kirstin, Allison, Megan, Jessica, Weston, Colleen, Erica and Seth, and four great-grandchildren.
