Patricia Ann Gula

Patricia A. Gula, 86, of Elyria passed away August 20, 2026.

She was born November 4, 1939 in Lorain to John and Elizabeth Kovacs. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1957 and married Arthur R. Gula on May 17, 1958. She was a stay at home mother until her children attended high school. She was an excellent cook and baker and in her younger years she took up golfing and bowling. She retired in 1998 from Sparkle Market in Grafton as the deli manager. In 2000 they moved to South Pines, NC. For 25 and a half years.

Survivors include her brother, John K. Kovacs (wife, Donna); daughter, Karen (Kester “Kim”) Samples; grandchildren, Jonathan Samples, Jacqeline Fletcher (husband, Robert) and Harmony Colangelo; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Marilou Fletcher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R. Gula in April of 2026, son, Arthur D. Gula

In January 2026, grandson, Jeffrey Gula in 2016 and a sister, Betty Jean Dojchak.

The family will receive friends Saturday September 26, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. for a memorial gathering, where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elyria 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.

The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick will Officiate.
