Patricia A. "Pat" Bauer, 91, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday January 4, 2019. She was born July 31, 1927 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Pat worked as an accountant at Gilford Instruments in Oberlin for 27 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, was a former volunteer with R.S.V.P. and enjoyed traveling, photography, playing cards and going to casinos. Survivors include her nieces, Rita (Doug) Bowen and Sandra Bauer (companion, Tom Garcia); nephews, Dan (Debbie) Bauer, Dave (Barb) Bauer, Tim (Lisa) Bauer, Mike (Holly) Bauer and Rick (Maria) Bauer; numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Bauer in 1926 and a brother, Albert Bauer in 1984. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday January 11, 2019 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Albert Viegas, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private.
