Padriac D. "Pat" Routa, 34, of Lakewood and formerly of Elyria passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Friday July 8, 2022 with his beloved canine companion Iggy by his side. Born December 13, 1987 in Oberlin, OH. Pat was an Elyria High School graduate and earned his BFA from Kent State University in Visual Communication Design. He was partner in the design and development company, Handshake Digital. He was well liked, an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed life with family and a wide circle of friends. Pat is survived by his parents, Michael Routa and Caryl Henrichsen, his maternal grandparents, George and Ruth Steele and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. A Christian Memorial Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 15, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private.
