Orlen Patton 80 of Elyria passed away Thursday January 28, 2016 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. He was born July 5, 1935 in Hurgart, West Virginia, and came to the Elyria area in 1955 from West Virginia. Orlen worked at General Motors Corp. as a Tool Die Machine Setter for 39 years until his retirement in 1998.He served his Country in the Army during Korea from 1953-1955, and was a member of VFW post #1079. Survivors include his daughter Janette Patton (David Merthe) of Amherst , David of Elyria , grandchildren Shawn (Manda) Patton , Brandon Fox , Christopher (Lisa) Patton , Emily Patton , and Spencer Patton , great-grandchildren Gemma Patton and Finn Wakeman , brothers Corbet of Sinks Grove , W. Va. , Lonzo and Sherwin both of Rupert W. Va. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2003 Elizabeth Ann (nee Siegfried) , parents Charles Landon and Mary Etta Patton (nee Johnson), son Ronald , sisters Esther Hager , Lillian Crane and Vesta Dunbar.There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held 2:30PM Saturday January 30, 2016 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens (Avon), where full military honors will be provided by VFW post #1079.Pastor Slone will officiate.
