Noreen Williams (nee Miller) died peacefully Monday, February 16, 2026, in Avon, at the age of 82. Noreen is survived by her children, Sybil (Williams) and Thomas Gorman, and Hannah Williams and Robert Grossman.
Noreen was preceded in death by her husband, John Williams, and her parents, Robert and Bernice Miller.
Noreen was born March 29, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a “city girl” that met John while they were both attending Fenn College. After acing all those Engineering courses and graduating, Noreen and John started their life of travelling the world. Both of them loved their time in Kathmandu, Nepal the most out of all countries they visited. Experiencing culture was extremely important to Noreen.
Noreen and John settled in Elyria, Ohio with their daughters and this is where she joined the local chapter of the AAUW. This is where many lifelong friendships were born, and many bridge games were played. Noreen loved playing bridge and loved winning even more, those wins gave her the quarters she needed to buy veggies at the roadside stands.
Noreen will be missed by many; college friends, ladies at the theater, the gang at yoga, Great Decisionsgroups, andmostly her girls.
The visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Elyria. Burial will be private.
