Nathan Moon was born on May 21, 1949, in Crawfordsville, Arkansas, to Ivery D. Mhoon and Druesilla (Anderson) Mhoon. The Lord called our beloved Nathan home on June 5, 2025, after a short illness.

Nathan was raised in Sikeston, Missouri, and later moved to Elyria, Ohio, where he resided for 50 years. He was employed by Abex Manufacturing for 28 years. Nathan enjoyed fishing, photography, working on older model cars, and listening to music. He also took pleasure in watching old Westerns and The Bold and the Beautiful. Nathan was a faithful member of Church of the Rock Ministries.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Constance Moon; sons, Anthony Owens-Moon of St. Louis, Missouri, Atha Owens-Moon (Chanel), Dean and Charles Lewis, all of Elyria, Ohio; daughters, Stephine Moon of Redford, Michigan, and Jessica Moon of Elyria, Ohio. He also leaves behind 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Nathan is survived by his siblings: Roscoe (Dorothy) Mhoon of Sikeston, Missouri; Ivery (Lillie) Mhoon Jr. of Davenport, Iowa; Asberry (Faye) Mhoon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Edward (Shirley) Mhoon of Sikeston, Missouri; Eddie Mhoon of Sikeston, Missouri; Willie Gene Mhoon of St. Louis, Missouri; Charles Mhoon of Sikeston, Missouri; Melvin (Margret Ann) Mhoon of Sikeston, Missouri; and two sisters, Linda Mhoon of Sikeston, Missouri, and Annie (Michael) Mhoon Jefferson of Charleston, Missouri. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Druesilla and Ivery Mhoon his sisters, Willella Mhoon and Lorene Mhoon Coleman and his son Desmond Lewis.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Funeral service will follow from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
