Nancy J. Janowicz (nee: Weisman) 86, of Elyria passed away Saturday September 9, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain. She was born March 25, 1931 in Lorain. Nancy attended McKinley school through the eighth grade, and was an Elyria High School graduate. Nancy graduated from Kent State University earning a Bachelors Degree in Education, and returned to McKinley School where she taught for twenty four years. She a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Elyria. Nancy loved to travel extensively in the United States, Europe, and South America. She and her husband wintered in Naples, FL. for many years. Nancy was an avid reader, enjoyed attending grandchildren's sporting events. She enjoyed antiquing, and crafts. Nancy followed the Ohio State Buckeyes, Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers. She also enjoyed a card club with former classmates, and regular luncheons with former teacher colleagues. Survivors include a son; Gregory M. Janowicz (Jane) of Upper Arlington, OH., three grandchildren; Amee Lucy (Taylor) of Intervale, NH., Michael J. Janowicz (Megan) of Upper Arlington, OH., Alison Thornton (Matt) of North Conway, NH., four great grandchildren; Tommy J. Janowicz, James M. Janowicz, Maggie C. Lucy, Marlee Thornton, a brother; Wayne Weisman of Vermilion. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of sixty five years; Joseph Andrew Janowicz, a daughter; Jill Ann Janowicz, her parents; Harold Sr. and Arline (nee: Garber) Weisman, a sister; Norma Macpherson, a brother; Harold Weisman Jr. Funeral services and burial are private at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.
