Nancy J. Buescher, (nee-Elbert), 73, a 13 year City Council Representative to Ward 1 in North Ridgeville. She served on the Building and Lands Advisory Committee and the Master Plan Committee before being elected to City Council in 2000. She was a 1959 Elyria Catholic High School graduate and attended Kent State University Extension Center in Elyria and Lorain County Community College courses for Elected and Appointed Officials from 2002 until 2005. Nancy enjoyed a lifetime involvement in the creative and visual arts, winning several awards over the years for projects. She also took a interest in history and national and local politics. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville where she formerly sang in the choir and soloist with organist Mrs. Donna Kodysh. Mrs. Buescher was a member of the North Ridgeville Republican Club and past member of the Lorain County and North Ridgeville Historical Societies. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John Kenneth Buescher; daughter, Julianne Buescher of Los Angelas, CA.; son, Joseph J. Buescher, manager of Buescher Hardware in North Ridgeville; brother, Earl J. Elbert of Orlando, FL., Thomas J. Elbert and Michael J. Elbert both of Grafton; sister, Mary Ann Giovannazzo of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorne J. Sr. and Frances Elbert, brother, Lorne J. Elbert Jr. and niece Renee' Laubenthal.
