Mildred E. Wirkner (nee: Gruver) 87, of Elyria passed away at EMH Healthcare in Elyria following a brief illness. She was born September 14, 1925 in Marion, OH. Mildred was a retired school bus driver, she enjoyed spending time with family, puzzles, reading, and bowling. Survivors include a daughter; Sharon Weese (Larry) of Oberlin, a step daughter; Marge Muloin (Wayne) of Avon, two step sons; James Wirkner (Linda) of Yorktown, VA, and Edward Wirkner of Penn Valley, CA. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and four step grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of eighteen years; Herb Wirkner, a son; Robert Shober, her parents; James and Hallie (nee: Scofield) Gruver, four sisters and two brothers.
