Michael Paul Ware

Michael Paul Ware, 50, of New London, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Mercy Health Allen Hospital in Oberlin. Michael was born in Elyria to parents Harold Lee Ware and Judy Lee Jones on April 1, 1975.

Michael was a hardworking drywall technician who took pride in the work of his hands and the friendships he built along the way. Outside of work, Michael found great joy in fishing and music—two passions that brought him peace and happiness throughout his life. Known for his generous spirit, Michael truly cared about everyone he met and was always willing to lend a hand or share a kind word. His daughter and grandson were his world. With a big heart and a warm presence, he left a lasting impression on family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Michael leaves behind his daughter, Michaela Ware; girlfriend, Amy Shelton; sisters, Terry (Dallas) Burt, Cassie (Jack) Fisher; brother, Donald Ware; grandson, Oscar Cruz; nieces, Amanda Ware, Michelle Dahmous, Alexis “Boo” Ware; nephews, Richard and Jason Ware; best friends, Michael Spurlock and Christina Daniels. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Ware.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Burial will be private, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Michael’s name can be sent to the funeral home in care of the family.
