Michael J. Flanigan 61, of Elyria passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday March 8, 2023 after a short term illness.  He was born September 18, 1961 in Elyria, and was a lifelong Elyria resident.  Mike participated in wrestling as a youth, and still enjoyed watching the state and NCAA wrestling tournaments. He enjoyed fishing in his younger days, and later enjoyed being out on the golf course.  Mike had been living a life of recovery for the past two years after a long battle with addictions. Survivors include two sons; Joshua and Zachary both of Rhode Island, his mother; Martha (nee: Kiser) Flanigan of Elyria, two sisters; Molly Parsson of Brunswick, Laura Kelling of Columbia Station, and two brothers; Dan of  Elyria, John of Michigan, fifteen nephews and nieces. Mike was preceded in death by his wife; Laura, his father; Gregory, a brother; James.
