Merikay Walton, (nee-Campbell), 72, of Oberlin passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 14, 2019 at the University Hospitals Main Campus in Cleveland. She was born December 6, 1946 in Steubenville, OH. and has been a resident of Oberlin for 12 years, coming from Maple Heights. Merikay was a member of the East Oberlin Community Church and a former member of the Walton Hills Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Sivec and Janet Drescher; grandchildren, Jack and Charlie Sivec and Emma Walton; sister, Frances "Wezy" Bryner; nieces, Anna Bryner and Lara Robins; nephews, Tim, Marc and Lee Bryner and Michael Winslow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald in 2014. The family will receive friends Monday March 18, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Pastor Chris Vough will Officiate. Burial will be private.
