Melvin W. "Doc" Bostick, 79, of Grafton passed away Thursday May 23, 2019 at University Hospitals Main Campus in Cleveland following a brief illness. He was born July 15, 1939 in Sprague, WV. And was a Grafton resident for most of his life. Doc worked for the Midview Board of Education as a custodian for 31 years, retiring in 2001. He served in Viet Nam with the United States Army and was a member of the Elyria Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Janice "Sugar" (nee-Smith); sons, Melvin Carl (Kathy) Bostick and Mark (Krista) Bostick; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Betty Williams. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray and Marvin Bostick. The family will receive friends Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 30, 2019 in the funeral home. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
