Melva F. Krause, (nee-Smith), 73, of Elyria passed away Saturday May 19, 2012 at EMH Healthcare following a long illness. She was born March 16, 1939 in Parkersburg, WV. And was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Melva was a former member of New Life Baptist Church in Elyria, where she taught Sunday School at one time. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Carl; daughter, Debby Howes of Lorain; son, Danny Krause of Elyria; grandchildren, Marc and Patty; brothers, Rabon Smith of Grafton, Hayward Smith of Elyria, Haymond Smith of Parkersburg, WV., and Rodney Smith of Normantown, WV. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Wynona Smith and Nelda Whited. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
