Melissa C. Morency 52 of Elyria passed away Sunday October 18, 2015 unexpectedly at her residence. She was born December 2 , 1962 in Sandusky and was a graduate of Sandusky High School. Melissa served in the United States Army, and was a member of Amvets Post # 17 in Sandusky. She enjoyed gardening , garden gnomes and being with her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her mother Peggy ( nee Gardner) , daughters Heather Willis (Matthew Lambrix) , Sami Willis ( Willie Phillips III) both of Elyria , 7 grandchildren Zoey , Elijah , Zayn , Brandon , Evan , Kamdyn , and Anniston , sisters Teresa (Gordon) Willis of Elyria , Peggy (Tom) Akers of Grafton , brother Richard (Jo Anne) Morency Jr. of Sandusky, several nieces and nephews, and her best friend of 27 years Mary Lugtig. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Morency Sr. Family will receive friends 6-7 PM Thursday October 22, 2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
