Obituary

Please call to confirm receipt and also with the charges Maxine Marie Resar, (nee-Brown), passed away Monday January 21, 2019 in Cape Coral, FL. Following a lengthy illness. She was born March 21, 1943 in Kentucky and grew up in Jaeger, WV. But after losing her paresnts when she was quite young, Maxine moved to Elyria in 1957 with her sister Loraine. Maxine enrolled at Elyria high School where she quickly met the love of her life, Bill. They graduated in 1961 and married on February 9th 1963. Their strong love and happiness together never weakened throughout 55 years of marriage. Sh was lovingly welcomed into the Resar family from the start and had a wonderfully close bond with Bill's mother and father. Maxine and Bill had three children of their own, all of whom try to emulate Maxine and Bill's example of what a loving couple and loving parents should be. Maxine lived most of her life in Elyria. She was a full time house wife and mother while her children were young. Once they were in school she started working at One Hour Martinizing on Abbe Road where she often spent her lunch breaks playing Gin with her Uncle who worked nearby. Before retiring, Maxine and Bill built a home in Huron allowing them to spend more time with their friends in the area. Maxine will be remembered for her striking smile, her compassion and willingness to help others, and for the importance she placed on family and friends. But, she will also be remembered as one lucky lady. Whether it be catching big walleye on their boat, beating Black Jack tables in Las Vegas, winning a Harley in a raffle, or playing poker at the Huron Yacht Club with her friends, Maxine was a lucky lady. Yet, Maxine would tell you she was luckiest of all for marrying Bill, and for having family and friends who loved her and who she loved in return. Thank you for so many beautiful memories Maxine. You will be missed as a friend, as a mother and as a wife. Survivors include her husband William; daughter Brenda (Tony) of Lebanon, VA.; sons, William (Dawn) of Elyria and Gregory (Christina) of Oslo, Norway; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister Ruby of Utah.
