Matthew A. Davis, 51, of North Ridgeville, passed away Thursday August 1, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born on February 12, 1973 in Des Moines, Iowa to Roger and Mary (nee-Froese) Davis. Matt graduated from Elyria High School in 1991, served in the Ohio Army National Guard and earned a Bachelor of Arts-Business Administration degree from Tiffin University. Matt married his high school sweetheart Jennifer Shapko in 1996 and they were married 28 years before his passing. They have a son, Mitchell Davis and two daughters, Charlie and Grace. Matt was very passionate about his career and providing for his family. He held positions at FirstMerit Bank, Invacare Corporation and most recently Sherwin-Williams. Matt was a database guru and never met a spreadsheet he didn't like. Matt was very close to his work family and enjoyed getting to know his co-workers and their families. He was a die-hard sports fan, passionately supporting the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and all of the Cleveland teams. He took a liking to Manchester United in recent years after a business trip to Europe allowed him to attend a game in person. Matt is survived by his wife and children and their family dog, Dan as well as his parents, sister, Shannon Davis and nephew Roger Davis II. Matt also had a loving relationship with his in-laws, Joseph Sr. and Janet Shapko and brother-in-law Joseph Shapko Jr. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Joan Froese and John Delmar Davis and Thelma Davis.
