Mary L. Thomas-Seger, (nee-Sumpter), 86, of Amherst, passed away Sunday February 28, 2021 at her home following a brief illness. She was born December 11, 1934 in Burnsville, WV. And lived in the Elyria area for most of her life. Mary worked as a line operator at the General Motors Co. in Elyria for many years. She was a member of Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria and enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing and going to casinos. Survivors include her daughters, Deby Thomas, and Becky Winningham; sons, Steve (Lottie) Thomas and Mark (Margaret) Thomas; step-daughter, Judy; step-sons, Chris and Dennis; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Paul Thomas, second husband, Jacob Seger, son, Tommy Thomas,granddaughter, Theresa Eyring son-in-law, Marv Winningham and 10 siblings. A private graveside service will be held Monday March 8, 2021 at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave., Elyria.
