Mary C. Carder (nee: Strawderman), 85, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. Mary was born in Elkins, West Virginia on September 4, 1940 and later moved to northern Ohio where she worked at York International.  She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church in Elyria. Mary loved watching her grandchildren, cooking with her children, watching cooking shows, entertaining family, and playing with her grand-pups.

Survivors include her daughters, Wanda (Ed) Casto, Susan (John) Rankin, Tammy (Scott) Gregory; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ruth Strawderman; husband, Randall E.; Ruth Ann Carder, Brenda Sue Carder, Sharon Langley; son, David Carder; grandson, John W. Rankin III; and great-grandson, Dominic Kinder.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at the Brookdale Cemetery Chapel (please meet at cemetery.)  Dr. Darrell D. Deer, pastor will officiate. Memorial contributions in Mary's name can be sent to Multiple Breed Rescue 37305 Royalton Road, Grafton, Ohio 44044.
