Mary Rita Ross, 87, of Litchfied passed away Monday March 2, 2026 at Lifecare of Medina.

She was born October 25, 1938 in Cleveland to Fred and Ruth Kneiss.

A 1956 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, she worked as a secretary for Elyria City Schools for 26 years before retiring in 1998 and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Grafton.

She enjoyed traveling across the United State in their camper visiting family and enjoying the landscape.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Lyle D. Ross; children, Mark Weikel, Nancy (JC) Tucker and Margaret Zatko; step-children, Laura Ross, Mick Ross, Dan (Kel) Ross and Misty (Frank) Proszek and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and step grand and great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Eckelberry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carol Hrivnak, grandson, Denton Tucker, sister, Beverly Ziegman and brother, Richard Kneiss.

The family will receive friends Saturday March 14, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon in the Parish Center at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 noon in the Sanctuary of the church.

The Rev. John P. Seabold, pastor will be the Celebrant.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
