Mary M. Olenek, (nee-Pollack), 96, of Elyria passed away Wednesday August 14, 2019 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. She was born November 16, 1922 in Bellaire, OH. And was a lifelong Elyria resident. Mary retired from the Moen Corporation where she worked as an assembler, was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, was an animal lover and enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes. Survivors include her daughter, Anna (Robert) Knipper; sons, Stephen Olenek and Michael (Carol) Olenek; grandchildren, Hope, Stephen, Richard, Derek and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Dustin, Taylor, Dawson and Lilly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, son, Anthony, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends Monday August 19, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Albert Veigas, pastor of St. Agnes Church will Officiate. Private burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
