Mary Joyce Majoras

Mary Joyce Majoras (nee-Madok), 90, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026. Mary was born In Elyria to John and Helen Madok. She graduated in 1953 and shortly after met her future husband, Lawrence Majoras of Lorain. They were married in June of 1956 and recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

She was a past member of the Elyria Women’s Club, a long time member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Elyria and was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Over the years Mary enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo, traveling, concerts, especially big band music, cooking, and above all spending time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Lawrence Majoras of Eaton Township; her three children, Kellie Duktig (Steve), Wendie Fleming (the late Steven E.), and Scott Majoras; Grandsons, Garrett Duktig and Brandon Duktig; sisters, Betty Lescher (the late Martin), Alice Oswalt (Louis), and Nancy Younkin (the late Walter) and many dear nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Madok, brothers, John Madok and George Madok, sisters Helen Jezioro, Janet Snell and Peggy Crisp.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 20, 2026 at Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Elyria beginning at 11:00 a.m.. An Episcopal funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m.. The Rev. June Hardy Dorsey will Officiate. Burial will take place at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
