Mary J. Shassberger, born in Michigan in 1946, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025 in Westlake, Ohio, at the age of 79.

Mary led a full and active life, marked by her deep love for her family, and her enthusiasm for the sports she enjoyed-especially pickle ball, tennis, and golf. Some of her most cherished memories of her family include their trips to Disney World, taking Disney Cruises, and hosting Nana Camp. Her energy, warmth, and sense of humor touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her three loving sons: John E. Shassberger (Heather) of Bloomington, IN, Thomas A. Shassberger  (Michelle) of Elyria, OH., and Rob Shassberger (Tammy) of Collierville, TN. She was a devoted grandmother of eight grandchildren: Colin, Molly; Kyra, Brent, Claudia; Danny, David and John Shassberger-each of them brought her great pride and joy.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas C. Shassberger, who passed away on December 31, 2024 after a loving 58 years of marriage. In her final years, she made her home in Bloomington, IN. where she remained active with her dog and tended to her garden flowers.

Mary's legacy of love, laughter, and spirited competition will be cherished y all her knew her.

A private Celebration of Life will be held to honor her memory.
