Mary Jane Janosik, (nee-Guilmette), 88, of Elyria and formerly of Birmingham, OH. went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday June 8, 2024. She was born in Elyria on November 10, 1935 and graduated from Elyria Catholic High School in 1953. Retiring from the Chronicle-Telegram in 1997, she went on to work part-time as a seamtress for a local wedding shop. Mary loved singing and enjoyed sewing, knitting, flowers, going for walks and reading her bible. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Margaret (nee-Oster) Guilmette, sisters, Katherine DuBois and Marge Anna Buswell and brothers George and Robert Guilmette. She is survived by sons, Andy (Ethel) Janosik, Michael (Laura) Janosik and George Janosik;daughters, Jackie (Glenn) Mertz and Katherine Brock; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 12:00 p.m. (noon) Friday June 14, 2024 at Grace Lutheran Church 9685 East River Rd., Elyria where family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Pastor Robert Weldon will Officiate. Private burial will be at a later date at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the church.
