Mary E. Gross (nee Gest) age 70 of Grafton passed away Tuesday at Hospice Services of Southwest General following a prolonged battle with cancer. Mary was born in Lodi, Ohio July 13, 1948 to William and Vernie Gest (nee Snyder). She lived most of her life in this area. She retired from Keystone Local School District as a guidance counselor. Mary was a member of Belden United Methodist where she served as a lay speaker and Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her husband Christ Gross to whom she was married 23 years. Sons Michael (Deborah) Schmidt and David (Bonnie Jo) Schmidt. Grandchildren Jayq (Kate) Schmidt, Brad Schmidt, and Randi Schmidt. Great Grandchild Jayq Schmidt Jr. She is also survived by a brother William (Carolyn) Gest. She is preceded in death by husband Kenneth Schmidt and her parents William and Vernie Gest (nee Snyder). Services will be held Saturday May 25, 2019 at the Belden United Methodist Church, 36130 State Rte.303 where friends may call from 9:30am until time of the service at 10:30am.
