Mary Jane Grega, (nee-Smith), 82, of Elyria passed away Friday August 31, 2012 at EMH Healthcare following a brief illness. She was born August 12, 1930 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Mary Jane was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Robert "Bob"; daughters, Karen (Dick) Boron of Massilon and Gail (Scott) Engle of Amherst; grandchildren, Gary, Brett (wife, Erin), Ashley, Bruce, and Kenny. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard, Jim, and Ken Smith. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
