Mary (Merva) Gach, age 90, passed away on March 29, 2026 at The Hospice of The Western Reserve in Westlake, Ohio. She was born in Walhonding, Ohio in 1936 and has been an Elyria resident since 1940.

Upon graduation from Elyria High School with the class of 1953, she attended Kent State University and in later years also attended LCCC, earning an Associate Degree in Business.

She was a former employee of Harshaw Chemical Company in Elyria.

She had a love for books and a passion for learning. Always willing to do for others, her love for God and her family were of the utmost importance. Enjoying nature, gardening and baking gave her great pleasure.

She is survived by her daughters Susan M. Macri (Richard) and Mary Ann Huffman (Kenny), grandsons Michael Parris (Amy), Brian Parris (Anne), Robby Parris (Jennie), Joey Parris and Jarred Logan, and a sister: Joan Laubenthal (Norm).

She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Zuzana Merva, her brothers John, Michael and grandson Matthew Huffman.
