Obituary

Mary J. Bias, (nee-Henderson), 50, of Elyria passed away Monday April 4, 2011 at the Cleveland Clinic following a brief illness. She was born August 4, 1960 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Mary was employed in the meat department at the Apples Grocery store in Elyria, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, was a 1978 Elyria Catholic High School graduate and enjoyed reading and reading and writing poetry. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, John; daughter, Stephanie Bias of Sandusky; son, Johnny Bias Jr. of Berlin Heights; grandson, Tre Leber; parents, Edwin Sr. (Gene) and Patricia (nee-Walter) Henderson of Elyria; sister, Laureen (Scott) Dow of Temple City, CA.; brother, Matthew (Melissa) Henderson of Wapakoneta, OH. numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin E. Henderson Jr. in 1999 and grandparents, Marion Walter, George and Ruth Walter and Art and Eva Henderson. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home or to the St. Mary School Endowment Fund.
