Marvin R. Snyder, 88, of Elyria passed away Sunday August 26, 2012 at EMH Healthcare following a brief illness. He was born June 15, 1924 in Adrian, WV. And was a Elyria resident for most of his life. Marvin worked at the Ridge Tool Co. in Elyria for 35 years, retiring as a job setter in 1987. He was a W.W.II United States Army veteran, a member of the V.F.W. Post 1079 in Elyria and enjoyed golfing, fishing and bowling. Survivors include his daughters, Evelyn (Bob) Hober of Amherst and Shelia (Jimmy) Salisbury of Clay, WV.; son, Larry Snyder of Elyria; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; 3 brothers. He was preceded in death by his wife Vida in 2004, 2 grandsons, and 1 sister. The family will receive friends Tuesday (today) 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Brian Gardner will Officiate. Burial will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
