Martin R. "Bob" Flanagan, 51, of Elyria passed away Wednesday April 27, 2011 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born June 7, 1959 in Ann Arbor, MI. and was a Elyria resident for 26 years. Bob was a practicing attorney in the Lorain County Prosecuters Office for 22 years. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, the Lorain County Bar Association, the Supreme Court of Ohio and the Supreme Court of the United States. He also volunteered as a coach for the City of Elyria Youth Athletic Program. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Michele; daughters, Kelly Flanagan of Elyria and Meredith Flanagan at home; sons, Michael Flanagan of Elyria and Bryan Flanagan at home; mother and step-father, Marlene (Jerome) Kozac of Denver CO.; father and step-mother, Duane (Judy) Flanagan of North Royalton; sisters, Jill Franz of Canton, MI. and Karen Reichle of North Olmsted. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday May 3, 2011 at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Frank P. Kosem, pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
