Marlene M. Pierce (nee: Briggs) 74, of Oberlin passed away unexpectedly Thursday August 1, 2013 at EMH HealthCare in Elyria. She was born November 25, 1938 in Bellaire, OH. Marlene worked in the foundry at The Ford Motor Co. and retired following thirty years of service. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter; Cathy Cote (Arthur) of Oberlin, five sons; Michael E. Visnic (Sharon) of Oberlin, Bobby L. Visnic (the late Cathy) of Berea, Billy J. Visnic of Oberlin, Karl B. Visnic of Oberlin, Randy Pierce of Oberlin, additional survivors include twelve grandchildren; Jenny, Cristy, Kim, Danielle, Danny, Justin, Tyler, Kristin, Billy, Happy, Ricky, Tim, ten great grandchildren, a sister; Lena Lewis of Shadyside, OH, and two brothers; Jack Briggs (Nancy) of North Ridgeville, John Briggs (the late Paula) of Oberlin, and her beloved dog; Abby. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; Bill and Luby (nee: Miller) Briggs. Family will receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday August 4, 2013 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
