Mark S. Maeder, age 52, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2022 at his home. He was born on August 23, 1970 in Sandusky, OH to parents Ronald and Vicki (nee: Smith) Maeder. In his youth, he began playing hockey in the Elyria Hockey Program and then played on the Cleveland Americans Hockey Team. He was a 1988 graduate of Midview High School and attended Lorain County Community College. He owned and operated Sunshine Drywall Finishing for many years. Mark loved both flower and vegetable gardening and was an active gamer. Survivors include his wife, Tina (nee: Hale); mother, Vicki (Mike Szekely);an aunt, Wendy (Jim) Wintrich; uncles, Ron (Tracy) and James (Anne) Smith; and a great aunt Judy (Jim) Toth. Mark is preceded in death by his father; an uncle, Barry Smith; maternal grandparents Mel and Pat Smith; paternal grandparents Joe and Betty (Faber) Maeder; and his Jack Russell terrier Jerry Garcia, who was his loving and faithful companion. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 2-4 PM at the VFW Post 3341 which is located at 783 Huron Street in Grafton. Join them to share food and some memories of Mark.
